One Voice Choir

One Voice Choir BBC radio 3 choir of the year 2008

One Voice  was founded in December 2005 by former Zion Train front-woman and professional singer Molara who said:

“I wanted to explore the powerful dynamic of a large acapella singing collective and to arrange great songs which would not ordinarily be considered choir material”.

The One Voice repertoire includes a wide range of styles from world music to pop, reggae to folk and anything in between.

We are an eclectic group of people from Pembrokeshire and the surrounding areas, from farmers to teachers, painters to nurses. 90% of the choir (including Molara herself) were told that they couldn’t sing at school.

In spring 2008 they reached the regional finals of the BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year competition and travelled to Cardiff to sing at St. David’s Hall, where they were described by the competition judges as:

“mesmeric…beautiful…organic non GM singing from the heart”
